Glazed Partition Wall
Partition Walls consist of various combinations of glass and wood in aluminum profile construction. For example: Double glass, glass to glass combinations. Full bottom (wooden) glass above systems, bottom and top full, glass systems in the middle.
If there is a division between the manager and the employees in office divisions, if the manager wants to be in eye contact with his employees and at the same time he wants to hold a meeting in his room without being distracted, he can prevent eye contact by lowering or closing his blinds. Systems with blinds can be manufactured in vertical or horizontal systems.
Here, determining the construction is the ceiling height where the partition wall will be built. If the ceiling is too high (3.4 -5 m), it may not be desirable to raise the partition wall to this height. In this case, the plasterboard is lowered up to a height of (2.4-2.8 m) from the ceiling. However, heights of 2.4-2.6 m may remain low for the office. Years of work in a low place may be unnecessary, especially when there is room on the ceiling.
Glass partition in order to be understood better; let's imagine the partition wall of an office with very high ceilings together. Let's imagine that there are many offices side by side in an area where the space is wide and the ceiling is high. Considering the location of the entrance door of the place, let's assume that we arrange the offices side by side and opposite each other.
First, let's calculate the ceiling height. For this, we have to consider many issues, especially heating and lighting costs. For example, when choosing the ceiling height, we should pay attention to heating ventilation, lighting, and sound acoustics in and out of offices and side offices. The choice of materials you will use on the ceiling is as important as the front and side walls of the office. Ventilation channels, power lines (pans), fire pipes, heating pipes pass primarily on the ceiling. Under these conditions, we can consider making the ceiling with glazing (removable and mountable).
We can solve this with rock wool or metal suspended ceiling covering. By calculating the lighting according to the size of the office, we can use lighting fixtures and ventilation appliances in sizes equivalent to the grid on the ceiling (such as 60x60 cm).
When necessary, access doors opening to the ceiling should also be considered in order to reach the ceiling. In order to prevent sound transmission between offices, we have to raise the office walls up to the ceiling with a 10 cm drywall sound barrier. Thus, let's assume that we design our office by calculating heat, sound, light ventilation. We have to pay attention to the width and height of the corridors, the visual aesthetics of the corridor and the appearance of the office partition walls while lining the offices side by side and opposite each other. Side-by-side offices should be listed according to the degree of relationship with each other and with visitors from outside. For example, purchasing and accounting is the easiest to reach in some institutions, while the offices that should be confidential such as technical office R&D should be further behind. Meeting rooms should be located closer to the outside for meetings with partners that are open to the outside, while being more inland for internal meetings. We designed how to divide the space with outlines.
Let's choose the partition wall:
The system will be 10 cm wide. We can make meeting rooms, accounting, R&D and procurement as solid walls. For other places, let's consider full bottom, glass in the middle and full top. Let's make the glazed part with blinds. Let's choose 90 cm from the bottom as full. Up to the height of the door (2,1 - 2,2 m) with double glazed blinds. We had chosen the ceiling 2.6-2.8 m before. Let's choose full up to this height. Let's lay between the filled parts with a 50 kg / m3 density rock wool board (in a way that prevents them from piling up over time).
When it comes to the remaining glass parts, it is important to choose the glass to be used. Generally, 6 mm + 6 mm tempered glass is used without doing in double glazed systems. It gives a beautiful image. When the venetian blinds are installed inside, the corridor lights in opposite offices give a beautiful view when they turn on. You can use the blinds either manually or with remote control. It is recommended to make acoustic calculations for the whole system. If acoustic calculations are made on partition walls, you can get rid of unnecessary thicknesses. In addition, glass thicknesses in double-glazed systems may not be equal as a result of the calculation (8 mm + 6 mm). Even according to the calculation result; in some offices, you may need to use glass selections as 4+4, 5+5, 6+6 mm laminated glass.
These glasses can be manufactured as tempered or grungy. In addition, acoustic laminated glasses specially manufactured for the same thickness can be used.
